Curriculum Statement
Through our curriculum, we provide a broad range of opportunities for children to acquire knowledge, skills and experiences relevant to their life now and in the future. We believe this creates a solid, firm foundation for excellent education.
We are adopting a teaching for mastery approach across the delivery of our curriculum. We teach key concepts which are broken down into small steps. We enable children to communicate their ideas with precision and clarity using subject specific and relevant vocabulary. Variation is used to allow children to learn in depth so that their understanding is not forgotten and ensure everyone moves forward as one.
In the subjects section of our website, you will find curriculum documents for each of the subjects we deliver. These shows the topics learned by children as they move through the school. Each class teacher produces a long term plan to outline when each topic is covered in the school year and how much time is allocated to each strand.
For more information about each subject, please contact either your child’s class teacher or the subject leader.

Our curriculum is supplemented by assemblies that are delivered across the week as follows:
Monday – HT Assembly relating to topical issues
Tuesday – BIG Question Assembly
Wednesday – Class Assembly
Thursday – Singing Assembly or Class Meeting (School Council)
Friday – Celebration Assembly – Rewards and Certificates
