Welcome Back
A warm welcome back to our school for the start of the new school year. Can I please extend a special welcome to our new families and children who are starting school for the very first time. The first days back were wonderful, the presence of you and your children around the school gave it energy and buzz. The children seem to have settled well into their new class arrangements and look exceptionally smart in their uniforms. Thank you for your support.
Along with this newsletter, I attach a copy of our parent calendar for the year ahead, your child will bring home a printed version for the fridge. As usual, all dates are subject to change due to unanticipated circumstances or issues. We will provide additional communication and information in the weeks leading up to each event, usually by Class Dojo.
This year, we have introduced some new events to the calendar and brought back some old favourites; including the Christmas shopping night and two opportunities for the children to sleep over in school.
The first event of this year is a Stay and Play which will take place next Monday 16th September from 8.45am to 9.15am. On this day, we invite parents to stay on the yard after dropping children off at school to experience a playtime. If the weather is good, we will also be able to access the school field, and children will show you some of the games and activities they get up to when you go home. The purpose of this is to experience the joy of playing, so we will operate a strict no mobile phone policy throughout the event. We will snap some photographs of you in play and share them through our social media channels and Class Dojo.
For the five events coloured in gold, we request support from Friends of the school. Although this is not an official body, we do ask for volunteers to help us deliver some events. This might be serving refreshments, collecting tickets or selling raffle tickets. If you think you can help in this way, please contact us through the main office. These events won’t go ahead without support.
